Originally from Vienna Austria. From a very early age, Ulrike was interested in art and began drawing when she was eight years old. She began art school before moving to the US. With her family, Ulrike moved to El Paso, TX, moving frequently within the US as her husband was in the military. With each move, she experienced varying artistic interests in the local communities and absorbing influences at each stop. Ulrike is mainly self-taught.
On our walls, we are happy to show Ulrike’s Faces. So many voices never heard, so many stories never told. People often comment that the faces appear to make eye contact and a connection with them, each in their own way. While she also paints abstracts, painting Faces and telling each story brings her pure enjoyment.
Ulrike is married to a retired Veteran, has five children and eight grandchildren.
